We jumped ship in San Diego and traveled cross country to Miami, FL! We are SO happy to be reunited with Daddy and are transitioning to the beautiful, but hot South Florida! Despite some crazy travel hiccups, the kids did excellent on their flights and had a blast visiting BoBo, JoJo, Erin,Tyler and Aunt Lois!
Welcome 2014!! The kids had an amazing Christmas, and now are getting ready for the big move to FL! We have decided to join Daddy on his adventure, and have rented a house in Coral Gables, FL! I am nervous and so sad to leave San Diego, but excited to re-unite with our "king" and enjoy the beautiful beaches in S. Florida! We have rented our home here in SD for 18 months and rented a home in FL. Our truck pulls out on the 29th and we head to Atlanta for a week before meeting our new house on Feb 5th! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to report our amazing live-in Nanny, McKenna, will be joining us for the transition. Fingers crossed, she will be blown away by the Sunshine State and want to stay until it is time to move back! The kids are curious as to what is really going on, but I think they are excited for the trip. We are REALLY going to miss Nano and Papa, and trying to get in all of the "sleepovers" before take off!
Thanksgiving flew by and now we are getting ready for Christmas! The kids are really excited that Santa's Elf has come back this year. He landed in our playroom and has been keeping a close eye on everyone so he can fly back to the North Pole and give daily reports to Santa. Evie and John are still playing soccer every Monday. They both are having a great time and have almost mastered the concept of "no hands on the ball." Evie is in ballet and tap and does a great job with her "shuffle, step!" Both kids are in Karate twice a week, and learning a lot about listening and following the rules! Will is getting bigger...and naughtier! He loves to play trains, ride his bike and torment his brother and sister. He is such a little stinker, but so incredibly cute that he gets away with murder. As Evie likes to say..."he is bad to the bone." Below are some Christmas pics I took of the kids! Be on the lookout for some cards soon! This was the BEST Christmas SO FAR! The kids had a blast counting down the days till Santa came. They were overwhelmed on Christmas morning with all of the awesome gifts! Best gift of all, though, was Daddy coming home - Evie said...
Happy Halloween! The kids had a blast this year!John took them out for the evening and they came home with bags full of candy!
John had a GREAT 5th birthday!! He requested a Transformer Theme with cake, pizza and swimming. We had a wonderful time and can't believe our baby is 5!!!!
John is doing great in school. We have him enrolled in a PreK program and he is currently studying solids and liquids. He loves doing Science Projects and Arts and Crafts. He has joined a soccer team and is learning how to be a team member and run for the goal. Evie is doing great in school, too. She is quite clever (says her teacher) as she can count to 20, recognize letters and numbers and continues to improve with tracing her name. She is currently studying birds and loves socializing with friends and reading books. Will is our little athlete! He is a thick little kid, loves to eat and torment his siblings! :-) He attends a Mommy and Me gymnastics class with Nano and Me on Thursday mornings. Nano helps Evie and I chase Will. I am still trying to figure out a plan to trade places with Nano!! The kids are really looking forward to Halloween and Trick or Treating. The boys will both be Transformers and Evie wants to be a Kitty Cat. I can't wait to post pics this year! TOO CUTE!!! We celebrated the end of August with Will's 2nd birthday! He loved dancing with his frog balloon, playing with bubbles, swimming with Nano and eating ice cream sundaes! He is officially TWO...and proving it by his naughty behavior!
The kids are enjoying the end of the Summer and loving their new classes at school. John is still traveling to and from Miami, while we wait for our house to sell, and I AM LOVING our new LIVE IN nanny!!! I get to spend so much more one-on-one time with the kids and they are really enjoying her awesome energy around the house! We are preparing for John John's birthday coming up on the 25th! He is really looking forward to a night at the LegoLand hotel!! We've been on Summer break for the last two weeks! John has been in Miami, so the kids and I have been spending time at the park, beach and pool! John and Evie have been enjoying afternoon swim lessons and Will has had great one-on-one time with Mommy, while his brother and sister have been in camp! Although we are really ready to join Daddy, we are still in San Diego, preparing for the Fall school year. The house is on the market, has had lots of showings, but no bites. The kids are super anxious to celebrate their upcoming birthdays! Evie is asking for a "Dora the Explorer" birthday theme, Will is into trucks and John wants Transformers! Everyone is excited about shopping for each other and eating birthday cake. Happy Fourth of July! We have had a great start to the month! A week at home with Daddy, fire works and summer school...things are great in the Dunlap house!
The kids have loved swimming in the pool, playing in the backyard and spending afternoons with Nano and Papa. Evie and John enjoyed their latest trip to the movies where they saw "Monster's University." Evie carried a blanket and hid underneath when things got scary! Will is talking in sentences and is obsessed with trucks! Just like his big brother did, he points out EVERY truck we see on the road...."tuck, tuck!" Everyone is great, and anxiously waiting for Daddy's next visit home from Miami!! WE MISS HIM SO MUCH! |
